The Elbee brand launched in October 2005, marked by a quiet and sober launching ceremony held at its then headquarters in Adabraka, Accra. The launch was to introduce the Elbee stand fan (LB-18) onto the Ghanaian market. This product introduction aimed to gauge market acceptance and help collect customer feedback to inform the Research and Development team’s direction.
The launch was a great success which produced enough customer feedback to help the development team determine which other products to satisfy customers.
The company has since gone on to produce all sorts of appliances like rice cookers, ceiling fans, stabilizers, irons, gas cookers, wall fans, industrial fans, and its boil-dry protected water kettles that have become an instant customer favourite. With a lean startup team, it continuously delivered top-range products to the satisfaction and subsequent rapid demand from customers and has since grown to comprise over 100 direct and indirect employees with over 500 retailers spread across the length and breadth of the country.
Like every young brand, Elbee had to fight for its rightful place amongst the top names in home and kitchen appliances manufacturers in Ghana. In its formative years, Elbee products were in only a few shops and retail centres. Mainly in Opera square, which was the heart of commerce in Ghana at that time. It slowly proved its worth in the superior build quality of its products, thereby winning the trust of customers. By 2008, Elbee had become one of the most sought after brands in home appliances within Accra and Kumasi. The brand kept growing, and by the year 2011 customers had more faith in Elbee appliances than that of competitors.
From a single product (Stand fan) to the now vast array of quality products spanning over ten categories, the Elbee brand promise has been unwavering and has kept its word on delivering quality products that exceed expectations beyond customers’ imagination.
In giving back to society, we have periodically embarked on donations to schools in deprived communities in the form of toiletries, teaching equipment and school stationaries. The progress of a nation lies in the education of its people. That is why we are particularly interested in having an impact on education in whichever little way we can in any country we find ourselves. As the years go by, we hope to contribute more.
To mark our 15th anniversary, we have exciting activities lined up including giveaways, competitions, community engagement and donations to the needy. We believe in impacting the communities we operate within as the growth of the community is closely linked to the growth of our brand.
As we celebrate our 15 years of existence, we also celebrate 1.8 million units of appliances sold which translates to approximately 1.2 million households that rely on Elbee appliances for their day to day convenience.
